Hello from Jan Prentice Platt
I wanted to at least say hello and send along a picture of our fam as I was unable to attend last weekend’s events.
Jeff and I are retired teachers. He taught and coached for 40 years at West Covina High, and I, at the other end of the spectrum, was teaching kindergarten in Monrovia District for many years. We both enjoy subbing when we can. (I even still bring my guitar along.)
Our kids (in picture) are Allison (33), Mike (43), Christopher (35), and that is Luke, Allie’s husband on the right.
Allie and Luke live in Colorado. She works at the University of Colorado at Boulder with the Research & Innovation Office, and through articles, events & design projects, helps tell their research stories about (Aerospace, Biosciences, etc.), Luke works for NOAA nearby. They love carpooling to Boulder from their home in Broomfield.
Mike was a vet tech, but also a very talented musician, and now is touring with a Country Western singer, Tyler Rich. (Ask Alexa, she’ll know!)
He loves what he is doing and gets the bonus of seeing places he has never seen before. (Has played at the Grand Ol Opry, and was just in Canada! Fun!)
If you are ever in Irvine, and need your golf clubs fitted, you will find my son, Christopher, at Oak Creek, working for Cool Clubs. He loves the game and is really good at it, and can help you get better at it by using custom-fitted clubs.
I fondly remember Rolling Hills High and some great times with Pat Pederson, Hootenannies with Sue Hansen, Cherie Thames, and earlier, Alan Ankerstar. I also recall enjoying Gary Larsen”s piano escapades, Powder Puff Football,…and the Delphian staff… Hope you all had a wonderful 50th!
Blessings!
