After RHHS, off to UCSD for 3 years. Graduated from UCLA (BS in Geology). Married college sweetheart, Cindi, and we were off to Puerto Rico for a year for my first job. MS from USC (Engineering Geology & Water Resources Engineering, 1978). Off to Nicaragua for 5 months during the civil war. Settled in Irvine, raised two daughters (now attorneys). I enjoyed a long and successful career in water resources engineering. In 1999, we sold everything but our 42-foot sailboat and sailed around the Pacific for 2 years. Resettling in Washington. Lots of flying and restored two airplanes. Ran out of money and went back to work in 2003 in Groveland, CA (near Yosemite)–General Manager of a community services district (water, wastewater parks and fire). Active in Rotary, play golf, fly Cessna 172 and sailplanes, and camping in cabover camper. Retired in January 2011. Now active in worldwide water and sanitation projects with Rotary International. While not traveling with Rotary, I enjoy flying over Yosemite, soaring in sailplanes over the Sierra, playing golf, lazing on our community lake, and road trips in our camper. I’m also looking forward to going back to sea on a cruise that will take us to Chile, the South Seas, New Zealand, and Australia. Never a dull moment!
